E3 Thoughts (Part 2/Final)

Here’s part 2 of my E3 thoughts, not much else to say here but, let’s a go!

New Super Mario Bros U

Not only is the 3Ds getting New Super Mario Bros 2, the Wii U will get it’s own HD 2-D platformer, and I must say, I’m not too excited. I’m going to buy it, with my Wii U most likely. I love 2-D Mario, but the New Super Mario games are just “good” to me, and not great. Just my opinion.

Mass Effect 3 Wii U

Never played this series, but this was the biggest surprise of E3 for me.

Resident Evil 6

More on this one…I saw a interview with one of the developers on Spike who said it was an “Action game” like 5 times. I know the game is going to be fun, but I want it to have everything Resident Evil 5 lacked too. I want a new RE4, not a new RE5 (though I’ll take that over Operation Raccoon City). I saw the new Nemesis type enemy on Jake’s demo, and that was pretty bad-ass. The Nemesis and Mr. X admittedly freak me the hell out, so I’m looking forward to that. Also, can we get a Wii U release?

Tank! Tank! Tank! (Wii U)

I’ve seen a lot of bashing of this game, which sucks because all I’ve ever heard before E3 was how much of an awesome arcade game it is. I’m probably going to buy this one.

PS1 Classics On Vita

Twisted Metal 2? Tomb Raider? Final Fantasy 7? Portable? Sign me up. Apparently getting the PS1 games to Vita will take a long time, but I don’t mind, I just hope they aren’t as slow as Nintendo with new 3DS virtual console releases. I also heard they’re still going to try to make all downloadable PSP games compatible too, which is good because I bought several of those for my Vita before I found out I couldn’t convert them over.

Castlevania Lords Of Shadow: Mirror Of Fate

This is a definite must get for me. Though I wish it was more like Rondo Of Blood than Symphony Of The Night (just my personal preference of vampire slaying), this game looks sweet, and seeing Simon Belmont back is cool too!

Jersey Jack Pinball’s The Wizard Of Oz

Jersey Jack Pinball is owned by one of the most well known people in Pinball dealership, and is a huge pinball fan. The Wizard Of Oz looks to be different in design, which is nice to see, but I won’t know how good it is until I play it. What I can say is that I love the LCD display. Dot Matrix Displays are awesome, but compared to an HD display with color, it’s pretty outdated. I can’t wait to give this game a shot.

Marvel Pinball 3-D

Zen Studios is well known for great virtual pinball games, and my personal favorite one of theirs belongs to the 3DS. The 3d effect is great, the ball speed is manageable compared to the PS3 version, and it’s much easier to make shots.  I was so disappointed with the PS3 version, that I never gave Marvel Pinball a shot, so I’m hoping this version will take a cue from Zen Pinball 3DS.

Injustice: Gods Among Us

I loved Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. I hate it when people say a Mortal Kombat game can’t be good without blood, because MK Vs. DC was without a doubt the best 3-D Mortal Kombat game, especially after the giant disappointment that was Mortal Kombat Armageddon (I’ll review it some day).
Injustice Gods Among Us is like a new Mortal Kombat Vs. DC, but without the Mortal Kombat Kombatants, and much, MUCH, more insane. Instead of brutal violence, this game just goes crazy with the environment. The super attacks these heroes have are so over-the-top, and that’s just the coolest thing to me.  This game will be great, and hopefully this DC fighting game series will continue.

Conclusion

Well, that’s it. That’s all my E3 impressions. I know I left out a lot of games here, but these are all the ones that really caught my interest and felt like talking about. I’d like to hear your thoughts about E3, as well as your thoughts about my thoughts.

Thanks, and take care!
